Nice to have
A minute saved, not a must.
A stopped time-only automatic is back in seconds: a few turns of the crown, set the hands, go. A winder spares you that minute every time you switch watches.

Resetting takes a careful hand.
A moon phase or an annual calendar takes minutes to reset, and some only adjust through a recessed pusher and a tool. Keeping it running avoids all of it.
4-watch winders
Strongly recommended
This is what a winder is for.
A perpetual calendar tracks months and leap years on its own. Once it stops, resetting it is long, and some models are best left to a watchmaker. Keep it turning.
6-watch winders
No
You do not need one.
A winder only helps automatic watches, the ones with a rotor. A hand-wound watch needs its crown, a quartz watch needs its battery. We would rather tell you now.

Do I actually need a watch winder?
Only for automatic watches you do not wear every day. With a date, day-date, moon phase or perpetual calendar, a winder saves you resetting it after every stop. For a time-only watch, it is a convenience. Check your watch.
Can a winder overwind my watch?
No. An automatic movement has a slipping bridle on its mainspring: once the spring is full, extra turns slip instead of adding tension.
Which capacity should I choose?
One slot for each automatic you rotate, plus one for the next arrival. Our 6 + 6 cases wind six watches and keep six more in a drawer. Find your size.
When will my order arrive?
Your winder is prepared in 1 to 2 business days, then spends 6 to 8 business days in transit: 7 to 10 business days in all, free and tracked to all 50 states, DC and APO/FPO. Each product page shows the dates.
Will I pay anything at the door?
No. Any duties or taxes, where applicable, are already included in the price, so there is nothing extra to pay on delivery.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery, unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by you, and we refund the price of the item within 10 business days of receiving it. Returns policy.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email a photo and your order number within 7 days of delivery. We send a free replacement or refund you, return shipping included.

Live with it for a month.
You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind. Send it back unused, in its original packaging, and we refund the price of the item within 10 business days of receiving it. If it arrives damaged, send us a photo within 7 days: we replace it or refund you, return shipping included.
